Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: General tīrtha/āśrama-sevā motif: constructing water-reservoirs and prasādas (temples) is praised as dharmic public merit that supports Śiva-worship and purifies the doer.
Significance: Encourages dāna and loka-hita (public welfare) as Śiva-arpita karma; tīrtha-yātrā and āśrama-sevā become supports for śuddhi leading toward Śiva’s grace.
Shakti Form: Annapūrṇā
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
It teaches that purification is not only inward but also expressed through Shiva-oriented dharma: public welfare works (water sources), temple construction, disciplined vows, yajña, and pilgrimage—actions that loosen pāśa (bondage) and mature the soul toward Śiva’s grace.
By emphasizing prasāda-kalpanā (temple/sanctuary construction) and tīrtha-sevā, it supports Saguna Śiva worship—creating and maintaining sacred spaces where the Liṅga is honored and devotees cultivate bhakti and purity.
The verse highlights Kṛcchra and Cāndrāyaṇa vratas (austerity-based fasts) along with yajña and tīrtha-yātrā; these can be paired with daily Śiva-japa (e.g., Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) as a practical Shaiva discipline.
