नन्दिकेशावतारवर्णनम् (Nandikeśa Avatāra Varṇanam) — “Account of the Descent/Origin of Nandikeśvara”
न दास्यामि सुतं तेऽहं मृत्युहीनमयोनिजम् । हरिर्विधिश्च भगवान्किमुतान्यो महामुने
na dāsyāmi sutaṃ te'haṃ mṛtyuhīnamayonijam | harirvidhiśca bhagavānkimutānyo mahāmune
മരണരഹിതനും അയോനിജനും ആയ പുത്രനെ ഞാൻ നിനക്കു നൽകുകയില്ല. ഭഗവാൻ ഹരിയും ഭഗവാൻ വിധിയും (ബ്രഹ്മാവും) ഇതിന് അതീതരല്ല—പിന്നെ മറ്റാരാണ്, മഹാമുനേ?
