Kirātāvatāra, Durvāsā-upākhyāna, and the Logic of Divine Rescue
Kirātākhyam-avatāra; Pāṇḍava-prasaṅga
suprasannaśca vighnāni saṃhariṣyati sarvadā | punaścaivaṃ śivasyaiva varaṃ mantraṃ pradāsyati
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
The verse highlights Śiva’s anugraha (grace): when the deity is pleased, He removes vighnas (inner and outer बाधाएँ) and grants a Śaiva mantra that becomes a direct means for purification and liberation in the Shaiva Siddhanta spirit of Pati’s saving compassion.
It affirms Saguna worship as effective: through devotion to Śiva (often approached as the Linga), the devotee gains divine favor, obstacle-removal, and mantra-upadeśa—showing that form-based worship can culminate in transformative spiritual power.
Mantra-upāsanā is implied: receive/hold Śiva’s mantra with reverence and practice steady japa and dhyāna, seeking vighna-nāśa and Śiva’s continued prasāda—especially suitable for disciplined daily worship and Mahāśivarātri observance.
