The Account of Śambhu’s Incarnation that Dispels Doubts Concerning Women
bhikṣuvaryya uvāca | śṛṇu prītyā viprapatni bālasyāsya purehitam | sarvamanyasya suprītyā vakṣyate tattvato'naghe
Bhikṣuvarya (the foremost mendicant)
Tattva Level: pashu
Role: teaching
It emphasizes śravaṇa (devotional listening) done with prīti (loving faith) and receiving teaching “tattvataḥ” (as truth), a key Shaiva approach where right understanding supports devotion and liberation.
Though the Liṅga is not named here, the verse sets the devotional frame: sacred Shaiva narratives are to be heard with reverence and truthfulness, which traditionally leads the listener toward Saguna Shiva worship and deeper grasp of Shiva-tattva.
The implied practice is śravaṇa—listening attentively to Shaiva kathā with devotion; it can be paired with mental remembrance of Shiva and silent japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” while hearing.
