nandīśvara uvāca | sa vipro gṛhamāgatya mahāharṣasamanvitaḥ | priyāyai kathayāmāsa tadvṛttāntamaśeṣataḥ
Nandishvara (Nandi)
Tattva Level: pashu
Sthala Purana: Domestic continuation of a boon narrative; no specific liṅga-sthala is named.
Significance: Models ‘śravaṇa–kīrtana’ within household life: receiving Śiva’s grace and then sharing it, strengthening dharma and devotion in the family.
It highlights sāttvika joy arising from contact with Śiva’s grace and the dharmic impulse to share sacred experience truthfully and completely, strengthening bhakti within the household.
Though the Liṅga is not named in this line, the verse reflects a common Purāṇic pattern: devotion to Saguna Śiva bears inner transformation, expressed as joy and reverent recounting of Śiva-related events (śiva-kathā), which itself is considered meritorious.
The implied practice is śiva-kathā-śravaṇa and kīrtana—hearing and recounting Śiva’s deeds with sincerity; as a takeaway, one may read or recite Śiva Purāṇa passages daily with devotion, optionally preceded by Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and the Pañcākṣarī mantra, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
