The Māhātmya of the Nandikeśvara Śiva-liṅga
शिवं प्रणम्य सुप्रीत्या समानर्चुश्च तेऽखिलाः । तुष्टुवुर्नतका विप्राः करौ बद्ध्वा सुचेतसः
śivaṃ praṇamya suprītyā samānarcuśca te'khilāḥ | tuṣṭuvurnatakā viprāḥ karau baddhvā sucetasaḥ

Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: A group of brāhmaṇas collectively approach Śiva with praṇāma, arcana, and stuti; the emphasis is on communal bhakti that invites Śiva’s grace rather than a specific Jyotirliṅga legend.
Significance: Models the core pilgrimage attitude: śaraṇāgati (surrender) expressed through añjali, stuti, and unified worship, which in Śaiva Siddhānta is a primary condition for anugraha.
Type: stotra
Offering: pushpa
It highlights the Shaiva Siddhanta emphasis on Shiva’s grace (anugraha): sincere pranama (humble surrender), archana (devotional worship), and stuti (praise) performed with a purified mind become direct means for receiving Shiva’s favor and spiritual uplift.
The verse describes concrete acts of Saguna worship—bowing, offering reverent worship, and reciting hymns—typical of Linga-upasana and Jyotirlinga pilgrimage contexts in the Koṭirudrasaṃhitā, where devotion expressed through ritual and praise is central.
A simple practice is indicated: approach Shiva with devotion, perform archana (offerings) and stotra-patha (recitation) with hands in añjali and a focused, purified mind—often paired in Shaiva practice with japa of the Panchakshara mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
