Viṣṇoḥ Sahasranāma-stotreṇa Śiva-prasādaḥ
Vishnu’s Thousand-Name Hymn and Shiva’s Grace
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Mantra: viṣvaṃbhareti te nāma
Role: liberating
The verse highlights Shiva’s anugraha (grace) as the decisive power that purifies karma: a divinely bestowed name becomes a means for pāpa-kṣaya (destruction of sins) and supports the devotee’s movement toward liberation in a Shaiva Siddhanta spirit of grace-led transformation.
In Kotirudra contexts, Saguna Shiva is approached through concrete supports—Linga worship, pilgrimage, and mantra. This verse reflects that the Lord’s personal assurance (prasāda) sanctifies the devotee’s identity and practice, reinforcing that Linga-upāsanā and Shiva’s named forms are effective channels of purification.
Mantra-japa centered on Shiva’s grace is implied: repeat Shiva’s names and related sacred names with devotion, ideally alongside Linga worship, Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) application, and Rudrākṣa wearing, dedicating the practice to pāpa-kṣaya and inner purity.
