The verse highlights śraddhā (steady trust) in Śaṅkara as a defining quality of the devotees; in Shaiva Siddhanta, such trust supports surrender to Pati (Śiva), preparing the soul to receive grace that loosens pāśa (bondage).
By emphasizing confidence in Śaṅkara, the verse supports Saguna devotion—approaching Shiva as the compassionate Lord who can be worshiped through the Liṅga, names, and rites, with faith as the inner foundation of external worship.
The practical takeaway is to pair listening to sacred narration (śravaṇa) with steady faith—supporting regular japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and simple Liṅga-upāsanā performed with unwavering trust in Śiva’s grace.
