तस्य तच्छुशुभे ताम्रं शरेणाभिहतं मुखम्।शरदीवाम्बुजं फुल्लं विद्धं भास्कररश्मिना।।।।

tasya tac chuśubhe tāmraṃ śareṇābhihataṃ mukham | śaradīva ambujaṃ phullaṃ viddhaṃ bhāskara-raśminā ||

Translation

അവന്റെ താമ്രവർണ്ണമുള്ള മുഖം അമ്പുകൊണ്ട് പ്രഹരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടും അത്യന്തം ശോഭിച്ചു—ശരദ്കാലത്തിലെ പൂർണ്ണമായി വിരിഞ്ഞ താമര സൂര്യകിരണങ്ങളാൽ തുളച്ചിട്ടും തിളങ്ങുന്നതുപോലെ।
