Sita’s Lament amid Rākṣasī Threats

सा स्नापयन्ती विपुलौ स्तनौ नेत्रजलस्रवैः।चिन्तयन्ती न शोकस्य तदान्तमधिगच्छति।।5.25.7।।

Transliteration

sā snāpayantī vipulau stanau netra-jala-sravaiḥ | cintayantī na śokasya tad-antam adhigacchati || 5.25.7 ||

Translation

കണ്ണുകളിൽ നിന്നൊഴുകിയ കണ്ണുനീർ അവളുടെ പുഷ്ടമായ സ്തനങ്ങളെ നനയ്ക്കുമ്പോഴും, അവൾ നിരന്തരം ചിന്തയിൽ മുങ്ങി; ആ ദുഃഖത്തിന് അവൾക്ക് അവസാനം കണ്ടുകിട്ടിയില്ല.
