मैत्रीप्रतिज्ञा-वैरकारणप्रश्नः
Friendship Vow and Inquiry into the Cause of Enmity
धनत्यागस्सुखत्यागो देहत्यागोऽपि वा पुनः।वयस्यार्थे प्रवर्तन्ते स्नेहं दृष्टवा तथाविधम्।।
dhanatyāgaḥ sukhatyāgo dehatyāgo 'pi vā punaḥ | vayasyārthe pravartante snehaṃ dṛṣṭvā tathāvidham ||
ഇത്തരം സ്നേഹബന്ധം കണ്ടാൽ ജനങ്ങൾ സുഹൃത്തിനുവേണ്ടി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു—ധനം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കാനും, സുഖം ത്യജിക്കാനും, വീണ്ടും ശരീരം വരെ ത്യജിക്കാനും സന്നദ്ധരാകുന്നു.
