मैत्रीप्रतिज्ञा-वैरकारणप्रश्नः
Friendship Vow and Inquiry into the Cause of Enmity
तस्यैकां पर्णबहुलां भङ्क्त्वा शाखां सुपुष्पिताम्।सालस्यास्तीर्य सुग्रीवो निषसाद सराघवः।।
tasyaitāṃ parṇa-bahulāṃ bhaṅktvā śākhāṃ supuṣpitām | sālasya āstīrya sugrīvo niṣasāda sa-rāghavaḥ ||
ശാലവൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ഇലകളാൽ സമൃദ്ധവും പുഷ്പിതവുമായ ഒരു ശാഖ ഒടിച്ചു, സുഗ്രീവൻ അതിനെ വിരിച്ചു ഇരിപ്പിടമാക്കി; പിന്നെ രാഘവനോടു (ശ്രീരാമനോടു) കൂടെ ഇരുന്നു.
