अयं वसन्तस्सौमित्रे नानाविहगनादितः।सीतया विप्रहीनस्य शोकसन्दीपनो मम।।।।

Transliteration

ayaṃ vasantas saumitrē nānāvihaganāditaḥ | sītayā viprahīnasya śōkasandīpano mama ||

Translation

സൗമിത്രേ, നാനാവിധ പക്ഷികളുടെ നാദം മുഴങ്ങുന്ന ഈ വസന്തം, സീതാവിയോഗിയായ എന്റെ ശോകത്തെ മാത്രമേ കൂടുതൽ ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കുകയുള്ളൂ.
