Jatayu’s Combat with Ravana
विददार नखैरस्य तुण्डं पृष्ठे समर्पयन्।।।।केशांश्चोत्पाटयामास नखपक्षमुखायुधः।
vidadāra nakhair asya tuṇḍaṁ pṛṣṭhe samarpayan | keśāṁś cotpāṭayāmāsa nakha-pakṣa-mukhāyudhaḥ ||
രാവണന്റെ പുറത്ത് തന്റെ കൊക്ക് അമര്ത്തി വെച്ച്, ജടായു നഖങ്ങളാല് അവനെ കീറി മുറിച്ചു; അവന്റെ മുടിയും പിഴുതെടുത്തു—നഖവും ചിറകും കൊക്കും മാത്രമേ ആയുധങ്ങളായിരുന്നുള്ളൂ.
Jatayu who had his claws, wings and beak as the only weapons pierced and pricked Ravana all over with his nails by pressing his beak on his back and pulled out his hair.
