जटायुरुपदेशः — Jatāyu Confronts Rāvaṇa

Ethical Admonition and Challenge

तिष्ठ तिष्ठ दशग्रीव मुहूर्तं पश्य रावण।।।।युद्धातिथ्यं प्रदास्यामि यथाप्राणं निशाचर।वृन्तादिव फलं त्वां तु पातयेयं रथोत्तमात्।।।।

tiṣṭha tiṣṭha daśagrīva muhūrtaṃ paśya rāvaṇa |

yuddhātithyaṃ pradāsyāmi yathāprāṇaṃ niśācara |

vṛntād iva phalaṃ tvāṃ tu pātayeyam rathottamāt ||

നിൽക്കു, നിൽക്കു, ഹേ ദശഗ്രീവ രാവണ—ഒരു നിമിഷം ഇവിടെ നോക്കുക! ഹേ നിശാചരാ, എനിക്കു ശ്വാസം ഉള്ളിടത്തോളം ഞാൻ നിന്നെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ ‘അതിഥിസൽക്കാരം’ നൽകും; തണ്ടിൽ നിന്നു ഫലം വീഴുന്നതുപോലെ ആ ശ്രേഷ്ഠ രഥത്തിൽ നിന്നു നിന്നെ താഴെ വീഴ്ത്തും.
