शरभङ्गाश्रमगमनम् तथा इन्द्रदर्शनम्
Approach to Sarabhanga’s Hermitage and the Vision of Indra
तमेवमुक्त्वा सौमित्रिमिहैव स्थीयतामिति।अभिचक्राम काकुत्स्थ श्शरभङ्गाश्रमं प्रति।।3.5.20।।
tam evam uktvā saumitrim ihaiva sthīyatām iti |
abhicakrāma kākutsthaḥ śarabhaṅgāśramaṃ prati || 3.5.20 ||
ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞ് കാകുത്സ്ഥനായ രാമൻ സൗമിത്രിയോട്—“ഇവിടെ തന്നേ നില്ക്കുക” എന്നു കല്പിച്ച് ശരഭംഗമുനിയുടെ ആശ്രമത്തേക്കു നടന്നു.
This wild forest with which we have not been acquainted earlier is difficult to pass. (Hence) let us proceed quickly to sage Sarabhanga.
Dharma of honoring sages and right conduct: Rama proceeds to the hermitage properly, after ensuring Sītā’s safety—balancing reverence (toward ascetics) with responsibility (toward family).
After instructing Lakshmana to wait, Rama moves toward the hermitage of the sage Sarabhanga.
Maryādā (propriety) and steadiness—Rama follows orderly steps rather than impulsive movement.
