शूर्पणखाविरूपणम्

The Disfigurement of Śūrpaṇakhā

निकृत्तकर्णनासा तु विस्वरं सा विनद्य च।यथागतं प्रदुद्राव घोरा शूर्पणखा वनम्।।।।

nikṛttakarṇanāsā tu visvaraṃ sā vinadya ca |

yathāgataṃ pradudrāva ghorā śūrpaṇakhā vanam ||

ചെവിയും മൂക്കും വെട്ടിമാറ്റപ്പെട്ട ആ ഭയങ്കര ശൂർപ്പണഖ കർക്കശസ്വരത്തിൽ നിലവിളിച്ചു; വന്ന വഴിയേ തന്നെ വനത്തിലേക്ക് ഓടിപ്പോയി.
