व्यास उवाच । वेदं वेदौ तथा वेदान्वेदांगानि तथा द्विजाः । अधीत्य चाधिगम्यार्थं ततः स्नायाद्द्विजोत्तमः

vyāsa uvāca | vedaṃ vedau tathā vedānvedāṃgāni tathā dvijāḥ | adhītya cādhigamyārthaṃ tataḥ snāyāddvijottamaḥ

വ്യാസൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ ദ്വിജോത്തമാ! ദ്വിജൻ വേദം, രണ്ട് വേദങ്ങൾ, കൂടാതെ വേദാംഗങ്ങളോടുകൂടിയ വേദങ്ങളെ അധ്യയനം ചെയ്ത്, അവയുടെ അഭിപ്രേതാർത്ഥം ഗ്രഹിച്ചതിന് ശേഷം സമാവർത്തനസ്നാനം ചെയ്യണം.
