FAQs

Literally “one of sharp/fierce radiance,” it is an epithet for a supremely radiant deity being worshipped; identifying the specific deity requires the immediately surrounding context of the chapter.

The verse portrays a sacred setting where major divine figures and archetypal authorities (sages, creator, lawgiver, and Śiva as Sthāṇu) are present together, emphasizing the sanctity of the place and a harmonized vision of divine order.

It highlights reverence (upāsanā) toward the supreme radiance and depicts worship as a cosmic act witnessed by exalted beings—implying that devotion is strengthened by humility and awareness of the sacred community (divine and living beings).
