FAQs

The verse lists a lineage: Asamañja → Aṃśumān → Dilīpa → Bhagīratha, presenting Bhagīratha’s ancestry in a concise genealogical form.

Bhagīratha is widely remembered for his extraordinary effort (bhagīratha-prayatna) to bring the river Gaṅgā down to earth for the purification and upliftment of his ancestors.

Genealogical verses emphasize continuity of dharma across generations—highlighting how responsibility, merit, and spiritual aims are carried forward through lineage and remembered through sacred history.
