The Account of King Bhadreśvara
Sun-worship, healing, and heavenly ascent
kiṃ kariṣyāmi rājyaṃ ca kiṃ syādārādhanena tu | dvijā ūcuḥ | atra sthitvā svarājye tu samupāsya virocanaṃ
Dvijas (brāhmaṇas); the opening question is spoken by an unnamed interlocutor in the narrative context.
Concept: Even if worldly power feels meaningless, disciplined worship (upāsanā) is meaningful as a restorative act; remain steady in one’s place and perform prescribed devotion.
Application: Do not abandon responsibilities in despair; stabilize life, follow a consistent spiritual discipline, and let inner repair precede outer results.

It contrasts worldly power (kingdom) with spiritual practice, then advises steady, proper worship—performed without abandoning one’s duties or place.
The explicit speakers are the dvijas (brāhmaṇas), who give counsel; the initial rhetorical questions are voiced by an unnamed figure addressed by them in the surrounding narrative.
It presents worship (ārādhana/upāsanā) as a meaningful course of action even within worldly life, implying devotion can be integrated with one’s social role and responsibilities.
