वैशंपायन उवाच । दैत्यादीनां मृषाभावात्सुरत्वं न सुरालयम् । कथं भोग्यं कथं सौख्यमारोग्यं बलसंचयम्

വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ദൈത്യാദികളുടെ മിഥ്യാഭാവം മൂലം അവർക്കു ദേവത്വവും ഇല്ല, ദേവാലയവും ഇല്ല. അപ്പോൾ ഭോഗം എങ്ങനെ, സുഖം എങ്ങനെ, ആരോഗ്യവും ബലസഞ്ചയവും എങ്ങനെ ഉണ്ടാകും?
