Concept: Ritual correctness alone is insufficient; delusion (moha) can still precipitate downfall, so discernment and right intention must accompany worship.

Application: Before any prayer/vrata, pause for sankalpa with clarity; reduce impulsive action, examine motives, and correct misunderstandings rather than blaming fate.

Primary Rasa: karuna

Secondary Rasa: shanta

FAQs

Even when worship is performed properly and respectfully, delusion (moha)—misjudgment or lack of clear discernment—can still lead to failure or defeat.

No. It explicitly states the worship was not done with contempt; the stated cause of defeat is moha (delusion), not disrespect toward Gaṇapati.

Ritual correctness alone is not sufficient; one must also cultivate clarity and right understanding, since delusion can undermine even sincere religious effort.
