The Origin of the Lauhitya River

and the King of Tīrthas

कामाज्जातं वृषं पापं पुण्यं पुण्यप्रयोगतः । स जातश्चैव लौहित्यो विरंचेश्चैव चौरसः

kāmājjātaṃ vṛṣaṃ pāpaṃ puṇyaṃ puṇyaprayogataḥ | sa jātaścaiva lauhityo viraṃceścaiva caurasaḥ

കാമത്തിൽ നിന്നു പാപമയമായ വൃഷഭൻ ജനിച്ചു; പുണ്യാചരണത്തിൽ നിന്നു പുണ്യം തന്നേ ഉദ്ഭവിച്ചു. അവൻ ലൗഹിത്യനായി ജനിച്ചു; വിരഞ്ചി (ബ്രഹ്മാവ്) യുടെ സുസമമായ ചൗരസ രൂപമുള്ള പുത്രനുമായിരുന്നു.
