सत्वादिक्रतुकार्यं च पुष्करिण्युपकारकं । दानं नाकस्य सोपानं निःस्वस्य च न सिद्ध्यति

satvādikratukāryaṃ ca puṣkariṇyupakārakaṃ | dānaṃ nākasya sopānaṃ niḥsvasya ca na siddhyati

ദാനം സത്കർമ്മങ്ങളെയും യജ്ഞാദി കൃത്യങ്ങളെയും പോഷിപ്പിക്കുകയും പുഷ്കരിണി മുതലായ പൊതുപ്രയോജനങ്ങൾക്കു ഉപകാരപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. ദാനം സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കുള്ള സോപാനം; എന്നാൽ നിസ്സ്വനു അത് സാധ്യമല്ല.
