Concept: Puṇya accrues through alignment with protective, dharma-sustaining forces; the tradition preserves even obscure names as spiritually potent.

Application: Honor lineages and ‘small’ supports—helpers, routines, guardianship—recognizing that unseen contributors sustain one’s dharma.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"The chant softens into a steady cadence as Mātṛnandā and Sunandā appear like benevolent guardians at the edges of the mandala, while Biḍānī and Śakunī take sharper, watchful forms—bird-omens and protective vigilance embodied. Revatī, ‘most meritorious,’ stands with a calm halo and a rosary of light, and Śikhipaṭṭikā is adorned with peacock-feather patterns that ripple like living eyes across her garment.","primary_figures":["Mātṛnandā","Sunandā","Biḍānī","Śakunī","Revatī","Śikhipaṭṭikā"],"setting":"A lotus-mandala on a battlefield-temple threshold; banners flutter, and peacock-feather motifs appear in the air like protective sigils.","lighting_mood":"forest dappled","color_palette":["peacock green","turquoise","soft gold","ash gray","coral"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Revatī centered with serene gold halo and gem-studded crown; Śikhipaṭṭikā draped in peacock-feather patterned silk with gold leaf highlights; Mātṛnandā and Sunandā as symmetrical attendants; ornate arch, rich reds/greens, embossed gold detailing and traditional iconographic jewelry.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: refined, gentle faces and delicate textiles; peacock-feather motifs rendered with fine brushwork; a lyrical natural setting with soft trees and a pale sky; subtle symbolism for Śakunī as protective bird-omen without harshness.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines and stylized peacock patterns; Revatī with large calm eyes and a luminous aura; flat pigments in green/yellow/red with gold accents; rhythmic arrangement like a temple wall panel.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: peacock and lotus border dominating; Śikhipaṭṭikā integrated into a field of peacock-feather eyes; symmetrical devotional layout with floral garlands and deep blue-green ground, gold highlights."}

FAQs

It functions as a catalog-style line, listing a sequence of named figures (or possibly sacred places/associated entities) and marking Revatī as “mahāpuṇyā” (highly meritorious/holy).

The speaker cannot be reliably identified from this single isolated line; the surrounding verses of Adhyaya 46 are required to confirm the dialogue frame.

No direct ethical injunction is stated; the verse primarily preserves sacred/important names and emphasizes holiness through the epithet “mahāpuṇyā.”
