Means to Slay Tāraka: Girijā’s Birth, Kāma’s Burning, and Umā’s Austerities
brahmovāca | vibhāvari mahatkāryaṃ devānāṃ samupasthitaṃ | tatkartavyaṃ tvayā devi śṛṇu kāryasya niścayaṃ
Brahmā
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Type: celestial_realm
Sandhi Resolution Notes: brahmā+uvāca → brahmovāca; mahat+kāryam → mahatkāryam; tat+kartavyam → tatkartavyam
It frames an urgent divine assignment: Brahmā tells Vibhāvarī that a major matter affecting the gods has arisen and that she is the appointed agent to carry it out.
Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa often presents cosmic administration and delegated responsibilities among divine beings; this verse shows Brahmā assigning a decisive role within that divine order.
It emphasizes responsibility and attentive action: when a serious duty arises, one should listen carefully to clear guidance and act decisively for the greater good.
