Rāma
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: vira
Type: tirtha
Sandhi Resolution Notes:
The verse frames Śiva as the divine protector whose grace removes fear and grants refuge to devotees (bhaktas), a standard bhakti motif in Purāṇic hymns.
It recalls the famous episode of Dakṣa’s sacrifice (Dakṣa-yajña), which was disrupted and destroyed due to Dakṣa’s insult to Śiva—highlighting Śiva’s supremacy and the consequences of ritual performed with arrogance.
Devotion and humility are upheld over prideful ritualism: the Lord protects sincere devotees, while disrespect and ego in religious acts lead to spiritual downfall.
