पुरा वैदर्भको राजा पिता मे हि महायशाः । वासुदेव इति ख्यातस्त्रिषु लोकेषु धार्मिकः

purā vaidarbhako rājā pitā me hi mahāyaśāḥ | vāsudeva iti khyātastriṣu lokeṣu dhārmikaḥ

പണ്ടുകാലത്ത് വിദർഭദേശത്ത് ഒരു രാജാവുണ്ടായിരുന്നു—എന്റെ പിതാവ്—മഹായശസ്സുള്ളവൻ. ‘വാസുദേവൻ’ എന്ന പേരിൽ അദ്ദേഹം ഖ്യാതനായിരുന്നു; ത്രിലോകത്തിലും ധാർമ്മികനെന്നു പ്രസിദ്ധൻ।
