Concept: Life-giving acts—symbolized by planting and nurturing trees—generate lineage-like merit and earn divine honor.

Application: Plant and protect trees as a daily dharma; dedicate the act to Viṣṇu and ancestors, and sustain it through watering and guarding rather than one-time charity.

FAQs

The verse implies that honoring and sustaining trees (such as planting, protecting, and venerating them) is a highly meritorious act that yields spiritual honor and worldly/familial blessings.

It states that the meritorious person is worshipped even by the devas and is honored in Brahmaloka, presenting Brahmaloka as a reward-state associated with elevated religious merit.

It teaches reverence for life-sustaining nature: service to trees is framed as dharmic, socially beneficial, and spiritually rewarding, even addressing personal anxieties like sonlessness through virtuous action.
