FAQs

It groups common sacred landscapes—ponds, wells, stepwells, lotus-pools, and gardens—showing that sanctity in the Purāṇic world is tied to managed water-sources and their associated ritual norms.

By asking about devatāyatana (temples) alongside water-tīrthas, it frames devotion as structured worship supported by correct practice (vidhi), linking reverence to both deity-abodes and sacred waters.

It models humility and dharmic inquiry: even a great figure like Bhīṣma seeks instruction on proper conduct, implying that righteousness is maintained through learning, discipline, and respect for sacred institutions.
