FAQs

The karṇikā is the lotus’s central seat (pericarp), symbolizing the supreme center of a sacred diagram; placing Lalitā there indicates central sovereignty and auspicious authority within the divine arrangement.

They are presented as named feminine presences—auspicious powers or attendant goddesses—positioned around/within the central formation, emphasizing an ordered, beneficent divine retinue.

The verse models sacred order: virtues like auspiciousness (maṅgala), gentleness (saumya), and goodness (bhadra) are to be ‘placed’ at the center of one’s life, with the highest ideal enthroned at the core.
