Kṛta Yuga

FAQs

It frames the upcoming account as an ancient episode from the Kṛta Yuga and characterizes the Dānavas as war-intoxicated, setting a moral-historical backdrop for the narrative.

The verse is structured as a direct address to Bhīṣma, typical of the Pulastya–Bhīṣma dialogue framework used in parts of the Padma Purāṇa.

It signals a critique of pride and aggression: intoxication with conflict is portrayed as a spiritual and moral downfall that precedes suffering and defeat.
