पादयोः पतितस्तेहं क्षमस्वेह नमोस्तुते । पुलस्त्य उवाच । एवमुक्ता तदा क्रुद्धा ब्रह्माणं शप्तुमुद्यता

pādayoḥ patitastehaṃ kṣamasveha namostute | pulastya uvāca | evamuktā tadā kruddhā brahmāṇaṃ śaptumudyatā

ഞാൻ നിന്റെ പാദങ്ങളിൽ വീണിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇവിടെ എന്നെ ക്ഷമിക്കണം—നമസ്കാരം. പുലസ്ത്യൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞതോടെ അവൾ ക്രോധിച്ച് ബ്രഹ്മാവിനെ ശപിക്കാൻ ഒരുങ്ങി।
