FAQs

They are named figures in a genealogical-style narration: Saubhadra and Abhava are described as great beings, while Prastāva is identified as the son of Devabhāga and remembered as wise.

It is an honorific characterization meaning “is remembered/recognized as wise (learned),” marking Prastāva’s reputation for discernment or scholarship.

It reflects the Purāṇic method of preserving sacred history through lineages and notable individuals—highlighting strength (mahāsattva) and wisdom (budha) as valued traits.
