FAQs

It presents the Pitṛs as beneficent agents who, when satisfied, can confer both worldly goods (longevity, wealth, learning, sons, kingship) and spiritual attainments (heavenly joy and even liberation).

It includes both: the list intentionally spans material well-being and ultimate spiritual freedom, implying that ancestral satisfaction supports the full spectrum of human aims.

It implies the duty of gratitude and continuity—honoring one’s lineage and performing rightful obligations (such as respectful remembrance and dharmic conduct) is portrayed as a cause of harmony and blessing.
