The Origin of Rāvaṇa

अन्नोदके सदा त्यक्त्वा निद्रां क्रीडां तथा पुनः । चेत्तदा पितृलोकस्य घातात्पापं भवेन्मम

annodake sadā tyaktvā nidrāṃ krīḍāṃ tathā punaḥ | cettadā pitṛlokasya ghātātpāpaṃ bhavenmama

ഞാൻ അന്നജലത്തിൽ സദാ നിയന്ത്രണം പാലിച്ച്, നിദ്രയും കളിയും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച്, പിതൃലോകത്തിന് ഹാനി വരുത്തിയാൽ—ആ ഘാതത്തിന്റെ പാപം എനിക്കേ വരട്ടെ.
