The Greatness of Śrī Rādhāṣṭamī
Rādhā’s Birth-Eighth Observance
kurvaṃti ye sakṛdbhaktyā teṣāṃ naśyati tatkṣaṇāt | ekādaśyāḥ sahasreṇa yatphalaṃ labhate naraḥ
Unspecified (context-dependent within Brahma-khaṇḍa Adhyaya 7; verse states a general doctrinal claim)
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Sandhi Resolution Notes:
The verse praises performing the stated observance (referred to as “it” in context) even once with devotion, saying it yields the merit of a thousand Ekādaśīs.
It makes devotion (bhakti) the decisive factor: done with sincere devotion even once, it is said to destroy sins immediately and generate immense merit.
It teaches that inner sincerity and devotional intent can outweigh mere repetition of ritual acts, encouraging heartfelt practice over mechanical observance.
