कृत्वा क्रतुं व्रजेत्स्वर्गं वैकुंठं कार्तिकव्रती । यत्किंचिद्दुष्कृतं विप्र मनोवाक्कायकर्मजम्

kṛtvā kratuṃ vrajetsvargaṃ vaikuṃṭhaṃ kārtikavratī | yatkiṃcidduṣkṛtaṃ vipra manovākkāyakarmajam

ക്രതു നിർവഹിച്ചു കാർത്തികവ്രതം അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്നവൻ സ്വർഗവും, അതിലുപരി വൈകുണ്ഠവും പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു. ഹേ വിപ്ര, മനസ്സ്–വാക്ക്–കായകർമ്മജന്യമായ ഏതു ദുഷ്കൃത്യവും നശിക്കുന്നു.
