Concept: Complete atithi-sevā—snāna, ācchādana, bhojana, and respectful honoring—constitutes a high dharma, especially when done with pativratā intent.

Application: When hosting, offer practical comfort (water, clean clothes, nourishing food) and respectful speech; generosity should be holistic, not symbolic only.

FAQs

It highlights marital fidelity and dedicated service within gṛhastha-dharma—expressed here through practical care (bathing, clothing, food) and respectful gifting (ornaments).

Not explicitly in this line; it primarily conveys an ethical-social ideal of household duty and devotion rather than naming a deity or sectarian practice.

The lesson is attentive care and responsibility in relationships—devotion is shown through consistent, concrete actions that sustain and honor the other person.
