Unspecified (a deity speaking in first person, likely a Vaishnava context—Vishnu/Krishna—promising the fruit of charity dedicated to Him)

Concept: Charity offered to a brāhmaṇa with dedication to the Lord becomes bhakti-infused dāna, and the Lord personally ensures the reward.

Application: Before giving, mentally dedicate the act to Nārāyaṇa/Kṛṣṇa; give respectfully to worthy recipients; avoid transactional pride—trust the unseen return (anugraha).

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: shringara

Brāhmaṇa

FAQs

It recommends dāna (charitable giving) to a brāhmaṇa performed with bhakti and explicitly dedicated to the Lord (“mām uddiśya”).

It frames charity not as a mere social act but as an offering made in devotion to God, where the inner intention (dedication) is central.

Give sincerely and with devotional intention; such giving is portrayed as spiritually effective and assured to yield a fitting reward.
