The Bestowal of Boons upon Aṅga

ईदृशं देहि मे पुत्रं दातुकामो यदा वरम् । श्रीवासुदेव उवाच । एभिर्गुणैः समोपेतस्तव पुत्रो भविष्यति

īdṛśaṃ dehi me putraṃ dātukāmo yadā varam | śrīvāsudeva uvāca | ebhirguṇaiḥ samopetastava putro bhaviṣyati

“നിങ്ങൾ വരം നൽകാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നപ്പോൾ എനിക്ക് ഇത്തരമൊരു പുത്രനെ ദയചെയ്യുക.” ശ്രീ വാസുദേവൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു—“ഈ ഗുണങ്ങളാൽ സമ്യക്‌ യുക്തനായ നിന്റെ പുത്രൻ ഉണ്ടാകും.”
