pṛthivyādīni bhūtāni tretāgnirhutabhugyathā | varuṇo'pāṃpatiścāha dharitrī ca mahīdharāḥ || 77 ||
Sanatkumara (teaching Narada in the Uttara-Bhaga narrative frame)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It links cosmic functions to devatās: Agni receives offerings, Varuṇa governs waters, and Earth sustains beings—showing ṛta (ordered harmony) behind ritual and creation.
By recognizing divine governance in elements (fire, water, earth), a devotee cultivates reverence and gratitude; such awareness supports bhakti as worship becomes aligned with cosmic order.
It alludes to Śrauta ritual practice: the Tretā (three-fire system) and Agni as hutabhuk, reinforcing correct yajña understanding (kalpa/ritual application) and devatā-identification.
