Adhyaya 84Devi's Promise

या श्रीः स्वयं सुकृतिनां भवनेष्वलक्ष्मीः पापात्मनां कृतधियां हृदयेषु बुद्धिः ।

श्रद्धा सतां कुलजनप्रभवस्य लज्जा तां त्वां नताः स्म परिपालय देवि विश्वम् ॥

yā śrīḥ svayaṃ sukṛtināṃ bhavaneṣvalakṣmīḥ pāpātmanāṃ kṛtadhiyāṃ hṛdayeṣu buddhiḥ | śraddhā satāṃ kulajanaprabhavasya lajjā tāṃ tvāṃ natāḥ sma paripālaya devi viśvam ||

സജ്ജനരുടെ ഗൃഹങ്ങളിൽ നീ തന്നെയാണ് ശ്രീ (സമൃദ്ധി), പാപികളുടെ ഗൃഹങ്ങളിൽ അലക്ഷ്മി (ദുര്ഭാഗ്യം)യും നീ തന്നെയാണ്. പണ്ഡിതരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ബുദ്ധിയായി, സദ്ജനരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ശ്രദ്ധയായി, കുലീനരിൽ ലജ്ജയായി നീ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു. ഹേ ദേവീ, ഞങ്ങൾ നിനക്കു നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നു; ദയവായി ലോകത്തെ സംരക്ഷിക്കണമേ।
