Adhyaya 8 — Vasu's Redemption
vyatīte dvādaśe varṣe duḥkhasyānte narādhipaḥ | antarīkṣāc ca patito yamadūtaiḥ praṇoditaḥ ||

The verse reinforces that karmic experiences have endpoints (‘duḥkhasyānte’) and that cosmic administration is orderly. The ‘fall’ motif is also a warning against complacency in higher states (svarga), since merit and demerit both mature and conclude.
Carita; transitional world-travel is a common purāṇic narrative mechanism to dramatize moral law.
Falling from the mid-sky can symbolize descent of consciousness from subtle enjoyment to gross embodiment, compelled by remaining karmic vectors represented by Yamadūtas.
