चतुर्णामथ दुर्गाणां स्वसमुत्थानि त्रीणि तु ।
चतुर्थं कृत्रिमं दुर्गं ते चक्रुर्यत्नतस्तु वै ॥
caturṇām atha durgāṇāṃ sva-samutthāni trīṇi tu | caturthaṃ kṛtrimaṃ durgaṃ te cakrur yatnatas tu vai ||
ദുർഗങ്ങളുടെ നാലു തരങ്ങളിൽ മൂന്നു സ്വാഭാവികമായി ഉദ്ഭവിച്ച (സ്വയംഭൂ) ദുർഗങ്ങളാണ്; നാലാമത്തേത് കൃത്രിമ ദുർഗം, അതിനെ അവർ തീർച്ചയായും പരിശ്രമത്തോടെ നിർമ്മിച്ചു.
