Adhyaya 38 — Dattatreya on Non-Identification (Mamata) and the Path to Liberation
किंत्वत्र विषयाक्रान्ते स्थैर्यवत्त्वं न चेतसि ।
न चापि वेद्मि मुच्येयं कथं प्रकृतिबन्धनात् ॥
kintvatra viṣayākrānte sthairyavattvaṃ na cetasi |
na cāpi vedmi mucyeyaṃ kathaṃ prakṛtibandhanāt ||
എന്നാൽ ഇവിടെ, എന്റെ മനസ് വിഷയങ്ങളാൽ അധീനമാകുമ്പോൾ അതിൽ സ്ഥിരതയില്ല; പ്രകൃതിയുടെ ബന്ധനത്തിൽ നിന്ന് എങ്ങനെ മോചിതനാകുമെന്നതും എനിക്ക് അറിയില്ല।

Intellectual discrimination alone may not stabilize the mind; sustained practice is needed to overcome sense-driven turbulence and guṇa-conditioning.
