मदालसोवाच वत्स ! गार्हस्थ्यमादाय नरः सर्वमिदं जगत् ।

पुष्णाति तेन लोकांश्च स जयत्यभिवाञ्छितान् ॥

madālasovāca vatsa! gārhasthyam ādāya naraḥ sarvam idaṃ jagat | puṣṇāti tena lokāṃś ca sa jayaty abhivāñchitān ||

മദാലസ പറഞ്ഞു—വത്സാ, ഗൃഹസ്ഥാശ്രമം ആശ്രയിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ ഈ സമസ്ത ലോകത്തെയും പോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അതിലൂടെ അവൻ ലോകങ്ങളെ ധരിക്കുകയും ഇഷ്ടഫലങ്ങൾ പ്രാപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു।

The householder is the economic and ritual backbone of society: by feeding, hosting, giving, and maintaining dependents, the gṛhastha ‘supports the world’ and thereby gains legitimate worldly and spiritual attainments.

Ethical instruction; indirectly supports vaṃśānucarita ideals by defining the dharmic foundation from which kingship, learning, and asceticism are sustained.

‘Nourishing the world’ implies yajña in a broad sense: life becomes sacrificial reciprocity. Desired ends are achieved not by withdrawal alone but by dharmic participation and support of the whole.
