सम्पूजयेद्यथाशक्ति गन्धपुष्पादिभिस्तथा ।
न मित्रमतिथिं कुर्यान्नैकग्रामनिवासिनम् ॥
sampūjayed yathāśakti gandhapuṣpādibhis tathā / na mitram atithiṃ kuryān naikagrāmanivāsinam
യഥാശക്തി ഗന്ധം, പുഷ്പം മുതലായവ നൽകി അവനെ പൂജിച്ച് ആദരിക്കണം. സുഹൃത്തിനെ ‘അതിഥി’ എന്നു കരുതരുത്; അതേ ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ താമസിക്കുന്നവനെയും അങ്ങനെ അല്ല.
