कस्मान्नानीयते वत्सावुपकाराय मानदः ।
एवमुक्तौ ततस्तेन पित्रा स्नेहवता तु तौ ॥
kasmān nānīyate vatsāv upakārāya mānadaḥ |
evam uktau tatas tena pitrā snehavatā tu tau ||
‘എൻ പ്രിയ പുത്രന്മാരേ, അവന്റെ ഉപകാരത്തിന് പ്രതിദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നതിനായി, ഹേ മാനദാ, അവനെ എന്തുകൊണ്ട് കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നില്ല?’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ സ്നേഹമുള്ള പിതാവ് ആ രണ്ടുപേരോടും പ്രീതിപൂർവ്വം സംസാരിച്ചു।
